Campaign for Women and Hemophilia in Mexico

The Woman and Hemophilia campaign aims to inform women about bleeding disorders and the necessity of proper treatment. On April 17, the Chamber of Deputies will be illuminated in red for awareness.

The Hemophilia Federation of the Mexican Republic (FHRM) is conducting the campaign "Women and Hemophilia" with the aim of informing women about the symptoms of coagulation disorders and the importance of receiving appropriate treatment. In this regard, on April 17, the Chamber of Deputies, as well as several iconic monuments in Mexico City and other states such as Monterrey, Oaxaca, Yucatán, Tlaxcala, and Pachuca, will be illuminated in red in support of the campaign. Additionally, a special event called Hemofest will be held on April 12 at the Parque de los Venados, Mexico City, to showcase the positive outcomes that patients can achieve with appropriate treatment.

Minerva Cruz, President of the FHRM, invites participation in these activities and emphasizes that everyone has the right to health, highlighting the importance of raising awareness for these conditions to be recognized. It is also mentioned that the upcoming World Hemophilia Day on April 17 will feature various activities at both national and international levels to raise awareness of coagulation disorders. Under the slogan "Women and girls also need appropriate treatment," the goal is to educate society, authorities, and the general public about these ailments.

Regarding the lighting event at the Chamber of Deputies scheduled for February 25, in commemoration of International Rare Diseases Day, Minerva Cruz highlights the importance of raising awareness about these diseases that, despite having low prevalence, can lead to late diagnoses and treatments. This annual celebration, which takes place on February 28 or 29, aims to emphasize the need for proper registration of these diseases and to ensure access to adequate treatments as a fundamental part of health care.
